This book is a collaborative literary work written by the principal, teachers, and students of SMPN 3 Porong. As a tangible manifestation of support for the mandate of Government Regulation (PP) Number 57 of 2014 concerning Language Development, Guidance, and Protection, as well as the spirit of the Trigatra Bangun Bahasa movement, all stories in this book are presented in three languages: Indonesian, Javanese, and English.
Through each short story, readers are invited to explore the lives of people within a school and community environment enriched by diverse ethnicities, cultures, races, and beliefs. Various everyday conflicts and social dynamics—ranging from debates over student council (OSIS) activity schedules, prejudices among friends, misunderstandings regarding religious practices, to cultural adaptation—are portrayed naturally and resonate closely with the experiences of young people.
However, rather than becoming sources of division, these differences are woven together through language as a common thread that strengthens unity. Through simple yet meaningful acts of empathy, the characters in each story learn to set aside their egos, dispel prejudice, and embrace one another in order to build bridges of tolerance.
This book is founded upon three main pillars: prioritizing Indonesian as the language of national unity, preserving Javanese as the root of local culture, and mastering English as a gateway to the global world. More than merely a collection of fictional stories, this book serves as both a reflection and a valuable guide on how the values of inclusive, tolerant, and peaceful religious moderation can be practiced in everyday life to preserve the harmony of Indonesia’s future.
